Episode 56: I Spy Vault 101

SPY, 20th Century Fox

A desk-bound CIA analyst volunteers to go undercover to infiltrate the world of a deadly arms dealer, and prevent diabolical global disaster.

The acting was awesome. Lots of these characters, Jason Statham, for example, are usually typecasted often. Here, they seem to play exaggerated or completely different characters than usual. Very refreshing for this cast. Nancy and Aldo were fantastic supporting characters. Susan Cooper was a character that all audiences could connect with. We were also treated to some great and enjoyable cameo roles. Lastly, there's a respect here for the spy movie genre, much like Kingsman handled their movie.

50 Cent's cameo felt a bit random. At times the movie gets overly vulgar, specifically with Melissa McCarthy’s improvised lines. The supporting characterNancyfelt a little off at times, not fully gelling with McCarthy's Cooper and handling her interaction with 50 Cent a bit poorly. Modern music felt injected into the movie, where there was some original scoring at times. We really wish they would have just scored the entire thing and not date the film. Random moments, like the CIA's bat and rat problem, detract from the movie.
