    • Question from Shawn:

      • Dear Pew Pew,
I've always been somewhat of a fan of comics, but now that I'm starting to make more money I can finally get them more often. Instead of getting them off the racks, though, I keep hearing about pull lists. What exactly are those and how do they work?

  • The Stack

    • The Auteur #2, Oni Press

      • Rick Spears (Writer), James Callahan (Illustrator), Luigi Anderson (Colors)

        • Nathan T. Rex continues trying to create his next horror movie President’s Day. He’s decided to defend a serial killer in court in hopes of bringing him on-set to be a consultant. The issue follows Rex’s joke-of-a-trial.

          • GOOD: Art and colorwork as always. Pacing is just where it needs to be, with just enough courtroom stuff to progress the story, but weaved with those sick hallucinogenic scenes to keep in interesting.

          • BAD: It’s very apparent Callahan really likes to work on the gory hallucination scenes as the rest of the panels suffer a bit from bland art.

            • FINAL RATING: 4 PEWS

  • OMG TV

    • Silicon Valley, HBO

      • Created by Mike Judge (Beavis and Butt-Head, King of the Hill)

        • First part of the first episode he paints nerds in a bad light, but by the end of the pilot the characters become more “real”. The subsequent episodes continue to flesh out the characters. Comedy leads the show, but drama also exists.

          • FINAL RATING: 4 PEWS

  • Keepin It’ Reel

    • The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Sony Pictures

      • Peter Parker runs the gauntlet as the mysterious company Oscorp sends up a slew of supervillains against him, impacting on his life.

        • GOOD

          • Acting is on-par. Emotionally-driven storyline that makes you care with an end that will shake you up like other comic movies won’t. Fantastic usage of 3D.

        • BAD:

          • Too much backstory left out for the sake of “3” villains. Character choices are debatable. Slight straying away from comics. Music choice dates the movie.

            • FINAL RATING: 4 PEWS
