Episode 10: The Captain Crunches

THE STACK

  • Stray Bullets: Killers #1, Image Comics

    • David Lapham (DID EVERYTHING)

      • Crime Drama. Young Eli Goldberg follows his father to a strip club to admire the female anatomy for his sketches. He tells his friends of his adventures there, as well as sketches up some titillating pictures for them. At the club, he meets Spanish Scott, who screws up this suburban life royally at the end.

        • GOOD: Makes suburban life creepy, as everyone is hiding a secret. Feels real and gritty. Artwork is akin to old school pulp comics.

        • BAD: Maybe that females are used as sexual plot progression? I honestly don’t really believe that, but if I had to pick something, anyways…

          • FINAL RATING: 5 PEWS

OMGTV

  • Community, "G.I. Jeff", NBC

    • GOOD: Feels like a legit G.I. Joe cartoon from the '80s. Excellent layer of dark storytelling hidden within the episode. No previous knowledge of the show needed to enjoy this particular episode.

    • BAD: Cheesy ending. But maybe it was done on purpose?

      • FINAL RATING: 5 PEWS
